Equipped with a consistent oval-shaped aperture, the Mantis lens is designed to replicate the timeless aesthetics of a 2x anamorphic image, providing oval-shaped bokeh, enhanced depth, and cinematic character while utilizing a more accessible 1.33x squeeze.
Amber Flare

How does Mantis differ from Remus Lenses?
Mantis lenses are more sensor-friendly, especially for modern cameras like the FX3, FX6, and Blackmagic Cinema Camera, which typically feature 16:9 sensors. With a 1.33x squeeze ratio, Mantis delivers a true 2.39:1 cinematic aspect ratio after desqueeze—without the need to crop your image.
Compared to the Remus series, the entire Mantis lineup offers greater sharpness while still preserving a controlled, classic anamorphic aesthetic. Thanks to its thoughtful optical design, Mantis maintains the signature anamorphic character even with a 1.33x squeeze.
When will the 25mm and 100mm Mantis lenses be available?
The Mantis 25mm and 100mm lenses are expected to be released later this year, around August.
Can I use the Mantis lenses on the DJI Ronin 4D?
Yes, the Mantis 35mm, 50mm, and 75mm lenses have been tested on the Ronin 4D and work without any issues.
However, to achieve proper balance, you'll need the DJI Zenmuse X9 Counterweight, along with a few small wheel counterweights for fine-tuning.
